About six years ago I began working on a project to expand my existing animal hospitals. I had a friend who had developed a different breed of Pet Resorts in Florida and I wanted to build in that direction. After an extensive search of general contractors I chose J. W. Enochs Inc. There several factors that went into my decision on choosing them; they were, experienced with veterinary hospitals and pet resorts, family-owned as well as being a locally-owned business.
From the very beginning phase Wilson Enochs helped us with every aspect or our new venture from zoning, design, construction and with subcontractors’ defectives after construction. The zoning phase of our project took at least two years. Wilson was incremental in our progressing past this stage. The County told us we would have to bore under Route 10 to install a water line. If we had had to go that route our project would have stopped at that point, however Wilson on his own initiative researched other options. As he researched he discovered a water line that the County had installed years ago and had apparently forgotten about. This discovery single-handedly allowed our project to move forward.
As with any construction project there are issues. The few that we encountered were handled professionally and quickly and resolved at his cost. We were very pleased that he was able to complete our project in a timely manner.
West Chester Pet Resort has now been open for business for 1 ½ years. We have had several small issues with equipment that even though his contractual obligations were fulfilled he has assisted with replacement parts and/or repair.
Through this process of our new business venture Wilson’s integrity and character have not only impressed us as a company but also as an individual in the community. He not only is a business associate but has also become a friend. With no hesitation, if I had the opportunity to build another facility, he would be the first person I would call.

I recently learned that J.W. Enochs Construction Company is being considered for the construction of the Central Issue Facility at Ft. Lee. I am a former resident of Hopewell and therefore, I felt that I should make you aware of my personal and professional experience with J.W. Enochs.
I have been fully engaged in the real estate development and management business for 35 years. I have been responsible for the development and construction of buildings of various sizes for Anheuser-Busch, Inc. Busch Properties, Inc., Chesapeake Corporation and many others reaching a far as the State of Florida.
My most recent project is the Williamsburg Health Evaluation center which is a 23,500 square foot Class A+ building located in the heart of the historic area of the City of Williamsburg. This building, without a doubt, required exceptional construction skills and extraordinary standards. This is recognized in our area as the finest example of high quality construction and finish detail. The cost for the building only was $7.0 million (rounded). J.W. Enochs, Inc. was the General Contractor for the entire project. During the construction process, they were on time, on budget, very well managed and received many compliments from the City of Williamsburg, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, as well as others not only for the beauty of the building, but for the way construction was so well-managed in the most sensitive location in Williamsburg.
I would welcome the opportunity to show you and your colleagues the building and the incredibly fine construction detail that made a big difference in the end product. However, the pictures, although very well done, do not capture the true quality of the building. The complexity of the building must be seen in person to be truly appreciated.
